Stamping, coupons, giveaways, challenges all in a Monday!

Hi Everyone,

There’s nothing better to get your mojo going than a challenge. Have you seen the Stamping fest going on at 2peas?

I’m excited to let you know I’m hosting a challenge Hangover week and would luv to see you participate, all the step by steps are on 2peas.

Here’s the necklace I created I found out from Anne this technique is call Intaglio who knew my playing around in my studio was so famous… I supposed I need to learn more about jewelry making :)

It’s been a while since I did a weekly menu, due to being sick so much.

Tuesday

Pasta with rustic chicken

Here’s the recipe I created.

Supplies:

Chicken breast, Spinach, Olives, Parsley, Basil, Oregano, Thyme, Madagascar pepper, onion, roma tomatoes, garlic, Penne, Parmesan cheese, celery, red, green pepper.

Dice all the celery, red, green pepper,onion, roma tomatoes, garlic, add 1/2 of the tomatoes to a pot and let simmer until the tomatoes are tender, then puree the sauce add back to the pot and let simmer for another 10 mtes, then add the remaining tomatoes. Season with salt, thyme, oregano, parsley.

Marinade the chicken w/salt, pepper, thyme. Sautéed with onion, and garlic to brown, the last 2 mtes of cooking add the spinach.

Boil the pasta w/a pinch of pepper and salt, oregano, garlic.

Once cook, then mix the chicken spinach with pasta. Voila now this will be served again on Thursday.

Counting down to Christmas with a menu and coupons!

Hello Everyone,

Chances are you have a friend or co-worker still wondering what to get them? here’s a simple quick idea. Desktop or wall Calendar.

Desktop or wall Calendar 2011

Supplies:

Graphic45 Debutante and Christmas past line
Want2scrap rhinestones
Rub n buff
Glue Dots International
Iridescent Medium
Ranger distress ink
Ribbon
Pearl Ex
Ek Success scallop punch
Embellishments
Calendar download

How to:

Remove the glass from the frame and mix a bit of the iridescent medium with Pearl ex. With a brush cover the mat with your chosen color. I chose a light gold. Let dry 5 min.
Use distress ink to edge the mat insert.
Cut Graphic45 paper of choice by using the mat as your guide.
Print calendar and reduce the size to fit the glass frame. Use distress ink on the printed calendar too. Adhere to the bottom of the paper right under the mat.
Cut a strip of coordinating Graphic45 paper using the scallop punch. Distress the edge and adhere to the top of the calendar to cover the cut line.
Cut a strip of ribbon and adhere to the top of the scallop strip.
Replace glass top and insert into the frame.

Now for decorating the glass portion!

Follow Miss Tracy's directions to make a rosette from yesterday’s post .

Add rhinestones from Want2srap to the center of the flowers on the glass.
Add flourish rhinestones and add more rhinestones to create visual interest.

TIP:

I cut the flourish to fit the size I needed and added more rhinestones to match the rose centers.

Adhere rosettes with Glue Dots. Adhere embellished tag from Graphic 45 Debutante collection then add buttons.

TIP:

I ran out of the medium sized buttons so instead I colored a white button with E79 to fit the color scheme I needed.

I added another circle to the tag and rhinestones to complete the look.
The frame was too shiny for me so I used Rub n Buff to add more of a patina.

Voila you are done!

Boo To you with a wonderful weekly menu

Hi Everyone,
This year you will never know it, but I'VE NEVER celebrated Halloween before. I had a few assignments that requires a Halloween theme.

This was very easy to create using the Happy Haunting Cricut Cartridge.

1.Once you have cut the images, ink all the edges using fluid chalk, assemble all the layers and add rhinestones to the eyes of the bats.
2.Create the rosette by cutting a strip pf paper at 1.25", score using scor-it at .25". ink the edges, fold accordion style, glue he two ends to create a circle, mount on the ribbon using Provo Craft Terrifically tacky glue adhesive .
3. Use Provo Craft Terrifically tacky glue adhesive to adhere the ribbon to the bats and rosette lenghtwise.
4.Cut 6 scallop circles for the word boo, ink the edges, sandwich the ribbon between the circles, adhere the letters for boo on top of the circles.
Voila you are done!
Supplies:
Happy Haunting Cricut Cartridge, Terrifically tacky tape, Gypsy from Provo Craft, K & Company Halloween pad, Mambi rhinestones, Colorbox fluid chalk, May Arts ribbon.

WEEKLY MENU

This week menu is very easy, everything is practically baked 1 pot meal.

Last week there were a huge sale of Campbell's soups, they were $1.00 each, so I took advantage and brought 50 cans, yep you read right 50 cans, plus I had 20 coupons for buy 2 save 50 cents..

yep I paid $20.00 plus spend $25.00 in groceries and get $5.00 off.

This week great buy which is the lowest price I've seen in 6 years. Target has the Betty Crocker brownies on sale for $.73cents just in time for Thanksgiving, Bananas for .19 cents a lb..

Banana bread anyone?

A Simple Sinful taste of Chocolate

Happy Monday,
I'm excited for today, as I focus on my menu planning this week. I've thought of nothing but scents of Chocolate.
I'm the type of gal the darker the better, I luv to use pure cocoa, pure Cocoa is not sweet, it's bitter and have this incredible oil that is wonderful for the skin.
Pure cocoa is wonderful in a bath, great for getting rid of bags under the eye.

Give me pure Cocoa any day over Godiva, they only use 35% or less Cocoa at most. Hereshey's less than 5% Cocoa.
Did you know white chocolate is made of pure sugar and a few drops of simulated Cocoa oil?

If you want pure Cocoa, find a Spanish bodega near you, or ask a friend.
This week instead of an entree menu, I'm going to concentrate on dessert to assuage my thirst for Chocolate..

How to save at the Farmer's Market & a Fantastic Menu Plan

Hi Everyone,
Chances are there is a Farmer's Market in your area, where you can find fantastic deals along with fresh seasonal produce, and Organic fare. Check this website for listing of Local Harvest.
Another way to save money is to belong to a Farm share, where you get a certain amount of food a month from the farms. More information here Farm Directory.

There's nothing more pleasant on a Saturday morning, armed with your menu list for the week, taking a stroll among the stall, amid fresh produce, your sensory senses get overfilled with colour and texture.

If you are an early riser and wants to get the best, freshest produce, arrive at the market 20 mtes early as they are setting up to get the best choices..

If you are looking to save a lot, then arrive 30mtes prior to the closing of the market so you can bargain. Those merchants don't want to take the produce home, any left over will be sold at cost..

What can you find at the Farmer's Market?
It depends some market you can find Art, Clothing, depending of the type of market.
Items to get are the homemade pasta's, dips, sauces, flowers, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, and yes I do get organic coffee, the best part they have tasting session so you can sample before you buy.

My favorite hands down is Artisan Cheese. They are crafted by hand using old world technique.

Here are a few pictures of my Farmer's Market, I was there very early at 7.30AM, as they were setting up. I had the pick of the best tomatoes, plums, Asparagus, Onions, Corn, Peaches. I love the idea of knowing where the food came from, most of the merchants does put signs of what city and states they come from.
