Treasure box for Spring

Hi Everyone,

The party continues this week with my Daughter being on Spring break. Are you hanging out in style? We’ve had a plethora of hungry teen in the house. I will be sharing a quick and easy recipe with you today, along with a box of treasury that I created for 4 of my daughter’s friends.

Treasure box I created for my daughter and her friends, to gather treasures this summer! I’ve seen the 7gypsies boxes all over this spring, some put atc cards in the box, others collect embellishments. I had my DH create one for me out of plywood. It measures sides are 6.5wx14.5lx6.5h. The best part is you can create this to fit any size you want.

Shepard's pie was a big hit with the teens at my house :) I use a Martha Stewart recipe, which I changed a bit, added more veggies, used Mozzarella instead of Cheddar, instant mash potatoes and heavy cream, unsalted butter :)

Spring Break 2011 & Recipes!

Hi Everyone,

Happy Spring break 2011, my dd will be out of school this weekend, we are starting to have hot and hotter temperature, perfect for a beach outing.

Speaking of outing have you seen the contest GCD Studios is currently running?

Using your stash, this stamp sheet is over 3 years old. I am determine to start using my older stash. I found this huge Music Hymn book at Salvation Army, I use the deacidifier to spray the sheets before I cut , 18 circles from Cricut Mini Monogram. Spritz them w/glimmer mist, ink the edges, scrunch them a bit then added brads and pearls to the center.

Added an old K & Co epoxy sticker

Wonderful Book signing!

I was honored this week to meet up with my friend Pam Carriker at Barnes & Noble.  She was signing copies of her newly released book "Art At The Speed Of Life".  Pam and I go back several years and I am so thrilled to call her friend and to have my very own signed copy of her book.  Pam had several of her artful friends contribute.  Here is Pam and I at the signing and some of her fantastic work!!

You also can follow the link to Pam's blog.  There is a blog hop under way with chances to win GREAT blog candy, including some books!  There are a few days left to jump on the blog hop!
This is artwork from the book plus various publication that Pam has had feature articles in!

When She got her first copy....a dream realised!
Pam is a warm and genuine person and truly loves her craft and her fellow artists.  She is a great inspiration to me and many others!  Her mantra "Do Art Every Day"
This book is available at Barnes & Noble along with Amazon.com!  You can also get signed copies of her book through her Etsy Store!
One of my favorite prints purchased from Pam's Etsy Store!

I love creating and love sharing the work of other artists.  This is by far the best mixed media book I have in my LARGE collection.  The book gives great tips for creating art every day, full blown projects along with speed of life adaptations so you can create in whatever time you have!

I plan on starting my art journal this coming week and will share as I go along!  EEP...now I am accountable!

Happy Creating

Something Different - Just for fun jewelry box

This is an altered jewelry box that I created.  I normally don't go on and on about my own creations, but I really love this piece.  I love the colors and the textures.  I know you cant see the detail in the lid but there are layers of embellishments and such in layers of epoxy resin!  Oh, and I love mosaic tiles and scrabble letters!
Of course there has to be the added bling!  I love the feet on the bottom as well.  The color was created with pearl paints!
Add some paper, more bling, some words and there you have it!
The boxes can be found at your local Hobby Lobby!  The alterations....all you!

Happy Creating,
