Is it Memorex or is it live?

Hi Everyone,
I get so excited when I find excellent ART that makes me question what I'm seeing.
Which brings to mind the tag line from Memorex.. Do you remember them Is it Memorex or is it live? before the advent of cd and dvds. I know some of you is too young to remember it... Walk down the memory lane with me for a moment..

I fell in luv with this artist work, at first I thought they were photograph, till I found out they are actual paintings.
Can you imagine having so much talent that your ART is taken for real life???
That got me thinking what have I created lately that makes me want to hang it on a wall and be able to see it on a regular basis and feel awe by it???

The answer is my darling daughter, I did have help from God and some help from My ex..lol

The ART of Collin Boggle

Let me know what you think?

Feathers, silk, & brooches!

Hi Everyone,
I've been wanting to clean up some flowers, I've had in my stash for a long time. Today I decided I was going to use some silk flowers and feathers to create brooches to match my wardrobe for Fall..
I've been watching the trend for Fall, orange big chunky accessories are in.

H & M has these large silk brooches starting at $9.99.
Here is an easy way to create yours for just $1.67..

Here is what you will need..
1.Large Silk Flowers
2.Feathers
3.Brooch pins
4.Fabric Glue (fabri-tac from Beacon Adhesive)

Let's start, rearrange the flower so it looks more bouffant, then use the fabric tac to adhere the petals.

Cut 1 branch of feather in half then adhere to the back of the flower. Then add the brooch let it dry over night by using the Fabri-tac..

Here is the result!  this flower matches my shirt perfectly..

What do you think is it worth $1.67???? leave me a comment let me know what you think?

I challenge you to update your wardrobe with this simple accessory...

Have a fabulous day,

Maggie

Creating 3D Flowers using your Silhouette

(Layout inspired by Scrapbook Challenge’s Blog Hop Challenge Sketch.)

Happy Friday! My name is Teresa Hord and I am a Contributor for Cutting Above!

I love all things floral and frilly so my layouts usually have some kind of flower on them. I try to keep a well stocked scraproom however, I always run into the problem of not having just the right color flowers for my layouts. I have recently started making my own flowers with the help of my **ADORED** Silhouette SD.

The materials I used for this project are:
My Mind’s Eye: Coastal “Authentic” Patterned Paper, Journaling Square and Rub-Ons, CTMH Twine, Bazzill Cardstock, Ranger: Baby Blue Stickles, Silhouette SD, and bulk ribbon.

Start with the 3D Posy Flower from the Silhouette Online Store.

1. Adjust the size to the diameter you want for your flowers.
2. “Ungroup” the so you can cut each layer out in a different paper. One of the layers I used Baby Blue Stickles by Ranger to make them sparkle like the patterned paper I used for the layout.
3. Stack and glue each layer in the middle section.
4. Use a craft button with some twine for the middle.
5. Fold the layers up around the craft button to create a 3D effect.

Now my flowers match my layout perfectly!

Be sure to come back and leave a comment with a link to the flowers you have created!
Let us know what you think?
Have a fabulous day,
Teresa
