GYPSY - Wine Bottle Wrappers

Hello Everyone! Wow! Thanksgiving is only a week away! Are you ready? This is Tammy and I'm working on it and want to share a project that I made to use as favors for my Thanksgiving dinner guests!  We chose a local wine to serve at our Thanksgiving dinner and bought extra bottles to send home with our dinner guests as a way of saying, 'Thank You' for coming.  I didn't want to cover up the label on the bottles should they like it and want to purchase more in the future.  So, I came up with a wine bottle wrapper that ties onto the bottle with a beautiful ribbon and can be removed for consumption (like my big word? lol!) and to keep as a souvenir of the evening.

I used the TAGS, BAGS, BOXES & MORE and WILD CARD cricut cartridges.  Using my GYPSY, I was able to re-size the tag to fit around my wine bottle perfectly and layer the frame and sentiment to fit.  I then cut them out with my cricut expression.  See the video below for step-by-step instructions on designing this project on the GYPSY.  You will learn how to (1) re-size images unporportionately, (2) use the new multiple page feature and (3) add an informational page to each of your projects in the GYPSY.

Click HERE if you cannot see the video above.

The WILD CARD cartridge has some awesome features and they can be used for more than just making cards!  Below is the HAPPY THANKSGIVING that I used and there are sentiments for almost every holiday and/or event you would encounter.

But my personal favorite feature of WILD CARD is the frames!  Love, love, love all the frame choices!  I couldn't pick just one, so I alternated these three...

Viola!  My wine bottle wrappers are now ready!

I also love using the wider ribbons and this one was perfect for my project.  Really adds a special touch to my place settings on my Thanksgiving dinner table.

Hope you liked my wine bottle wrappers, I know my dinner guests will!  I also hope that you have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving Holiday!

Maggie Lamarre: Owner
maggieI am an avid scrapper and reader who very much enjoys creating and sharing the knowledge I've acquired. After several years of scrapping, I fell in love with scrapbooking when I was searching for a tutorial to make a signature and stumbled upon Scrapbookbytes: the only digital site teaching and inspiring digital artists. Thus began my love affair with scrapbooking and digital. I've been fortunate enough to be published in several magazine and have participated on several well known design teams such as Holly McCaig and Ronee Pearson. When I am not spending time with family or scrapping, you can find me reading or surfing various blogs.

Betty Brett: Design Team Coordinator

betty My name is Betty Brett, also known as BettyBee, and I have been a crafter all of my life. My education was in the Arts and now I teach at a 6 - 12 grade charter school for the Arts. I began scrapbooking about 12 years ago and have evolved from cutting my photos and putting stickers on the pages to creating books to be published. About two years ago, I became an avid card maker, stamper and illustrator. I have had my Cricuts for several years, and now teach classes about the Cricut, Cuttlebug, and Copics. I host several large Cricut swarms each year. It has been my pleasure to also be on the Cuttlebug Challenge Design Team for the past year. I live on the sunny west coast of Florida with my hubby and two big kitties. We have three married children and love to travel to see our 5 grandchildren.

Carol Gough Lust
carol Hi … My name is ♥Carol♥. I am happily married with 2 grown children that have blessed me with 5 fabulous grandsons. I enjoy two fun hobbies, crafting (in a wide variety of mediums) and writing (short stories, poetry, and card verses, some of which have been published and/or sold). What a natural transition it has been to blend these two hobbies together with creative card crafting. With the help of my Cricut and Design Studio, I’ve found endless creative possibilities. It’s my pleasure to join the other talented Design Team members here on the Cutting Above blog to share some of my creations, as well as a few tips and techniques. I hope you will find what I have to offer helpful and inspiring. Happy Crafting!

Diane Campbell Payne (Capadia)
Hi, I am Diane. I have enjoyed paper and paper crafting since my childhood. My fascination with paper began with trips to the stationers with my mother and continued with a grade school report on origami. I have two sons, ages 20 and 24, and I share an “empty nest” with my husband of 28 years, who is very patient with my paper obsession. We currently live in the Boston area, but we lived overseas for eight years in Germany and England. I retired from practicing law when we moved overseas.

I am always happy when I am designing and I find the process of creating a scrapbook page or a card, by using various elements in new and different ways, to be rewarding and relaxing. Over the years, I have done cross stitch, needlepoint and quilting and I find that some of these interests have influenced my designs and paper crafting projects. I particularly enjoy designing .cut files for the Cricut electronic cutter.

Linda Scott
linda Hi, my name is Linda. Some of you may already know the scrapbooking side of me from my blog, Just A Scrappin' or the Cricut Cheat Sheets. Both of which were birthed out of my love for scrapbooking. Like most of you, I wear many hats and really do have a life outside of scrapbooking...really, I do...really. I am wife to Ronnie, mother to Kevin and Lauren and their spouses Samantha and Shawn, and Nana to Regan, Caitlyn, Millie and Taylor. I am also a professional photographer with my own studio. Finding time to scrapbook is my biggest challenge here lately, as I'm sure it is with so many of you. Hopefully, together, we'll be able to figure this issue out and actually get some scrappin' done!

Joy Tracey
joy I have truly been obsessed with scrapbooking since 2002! There is not one aspect of it that I haven't tried and explored! How did the passionate scrapbooking affair begin? Well, like most people, it all started at one of those Creative Memories parties a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. Quickly, I discovered that there were tons of options in the scrapbooking world, including a myriad of paper manufacturers, classes, conventions, die cutters, album designs, digital scrapbooking; you name it. I wanted to know about it and try it! I decided to bring my passionate talk about scrapping to the internet in the form of my first blog: Obsessed with Scrapbooking. Then, this past July, I launched the Christmas with the Cricut blog along with two fabulous scrappers: Tammy Skinner and Melanie Brown. We are having a great time counting down to Christmas! I started my grown-up life as a civil engineer, overseeing all aspects of gas station and convenience store construction for Mobil and Circle K. Now, I am an at-home domestic engineer having fun creating with my Cricut day and night. Currently, I live in Plano, Texas with my husband Brian, two wonderful exciting kids as well as two cats.
